When compared to astronomically-guided dual-axis tracking systems, the DEGERtrackers enjoy a clear advantage. The Zentrum f\u00fcr Sonnenenergie und Wasserstoff-Forschung (ZSW) [=Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research] calculated an increase of around 27 percent for astronomically-guided systems over fixed systems in European latitudes. MLD technology also offers 7% \u2013 8% more energy for solar collectors in comparison with astronomically-guided trackers. Technically speaking, astronomical type of dual axis trackers consists of azimuth and elevation movement and functions with the help of dc (or ac) and Hydraulic motors. The whole mechanical function is controlled by a relatively complex system of PLC controllers. A main problem is that their maintenance costs a lot of money, thus many times you have to pay a significant amount in order to get a service from the software engineer and manufacturer of the tracker. Image on the left shows the control board of an astronomical type – tracker.These complex astronomical control systems can be bypassed and connected with our custom control board on multiple (in this case 2) points, could be in the manual operation sub-system or fully bypass the PLC controller that in most cases exist.<\/strong><\/p>

After the technical intervention, control boards of astronomical type- trackers should be connected MLD adaptor board and therefore obey the commands of DEGER MAXIMUM LIGHT DETECTION – DEGER-MLD technology<\/strong>.<\/p>

In any case the astronomical algorithm is bypassed and MLD active tracking technology will drive the upgraded tracker to optimum yield.<\/p>

For a 2axis tracker MLD upgrade we also provide you two DEGER MLD sensors, connected with a special DEGER circuit board energy converter towards an adaptor board. This kind of tracker upgrade process from astronomical guidance to DEGER MLD technology, took place in Greece<\/strong>. The owner of a solar installation at Inofyta \u2013 Voiotia (mainland Greece) turned to DEGER in order to increase the daily yield of its installations. As a natural result, a decision was made to upgrade the sun monitoring system. DEGER gave a completely successful energy solution.<\/p>

The solar park has an installed capacity of 100 kWp , so as to highlight the difference in energy production, a 13.4 kW tracker has been selected, previously equipped with astronomical detection and shadow control for the afternoon. This unit was removed and replaced with two Deger MLD sensors and a custom, designed by DEGER , control panel.<\/p>

The absolute success of the upgrade procedure motivated the owner to complete two more upgrades to equal number of astronomical trackers. In total, 3 trackers from the total number of 7 trackers were upgraded to DEGER MLD technology and managed to achieve the desired energy production for the facility.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
